I’m not going to talk so much about what the book is about just going to give a description of the main point. But something isn’t right about Griffin. He always seems to be in the middle of bad things.
I really have no idea why the author chose to bail out at the end of the book. Chapter after chapter Preller paints a realistic, sometimes brutal portrait of how Eric, the new boy in town, deals with the challenges of fitting in at a new school while being a sometimes target and sometimes “friend” of Griffin, a seventh grade sociopath.

Although the story is jmes told in a straightforward fashion, making it a good choice for many younger teens at times I felt like I was reading a “lesson” about bullying, rather than a truly bystanedr story about teens caught up in bully situation which lessened my appreciation of the book.
Sure, the adults in the book try jamees instill jaames typical anti-bullying ideals, but the students pretty much disregard those directives. This book is meant to be read-aloud to whole classes. Set up a giveaway. This story compelled me because of how interesting the story is. Luckily, they were just kidding, but to me that doesn’t seem like a very friendly joke.
