Ideally, in reference to gravitation, these blocks would be balanced symmetrically over each other. There’s a bit of an intro for each part of the body which is pretty interesting and good to follow Bridgman for nearly 50 years a teacher at the Art Students League in New York for a solid foundation and understanding of human anatomy.

The line, in actual construction, must come first; but as mental construction must precede physical, so the concept of mass must come first, that of plane second, that of line last. A wonderful reference for any type of artist! Even more detailed discussions on the muscles are dealt with in The Human Machine. Muscles are therefore paired, throughout the body. Any book by George Bridgman is 5 stars.
