If you had seen and heard it, as Digory did, you would have felt quite certain that it was the stars themselves which were singing, and that it was the First Voice, the deep one, which had made them appear and made them sing.

It’s surprising how many details I forgot about this book since I first read it.
I am so glad I read this book again, because I had listened to only the audio drama years ago – I had less media images to conflict with my own pictures and even though there were STILL a few scenes that seemed a little creepy -: Lewis writes with such a fun and whimsical style that I was drawn into the story pretty quickly.
This was a fun adventure though!
The magician was quite the monstrous uncle. There’s always been a magic in it narniq me, even now I’m twenty — I never got to the age where I was too old for fairytales. AmazonGlobal Ship Orders Internationally. The series is worthy of adult time but well-paced and appropriate for younger kids.

I bought this book to help myself learn Spanish, and it serves very well because the vocabulary, while evocative, is also fairly simple. Maybe when their older they will have a longer attention span and a better appreciation of great books.
I can’t remember the last time I read The Magician’s Nephew – I had skipped through the other CON over the years, but never TMN – it was my least favorite and it scared me when I libo small perhaps because I first listened to it as an audio drama, where creepy music and voices were used from Jadis and occasionally Uncle Andrew.

maago View all 6 comments. I, myself, read in this order I don’t think the allegory detracts from the magic at all. D – I am delighted that I read this book and experienced ‘the beginning of the adventure’ This was a wonderful beginning to the story and I absolutely loved the symbolism.
